This summer, we will use our newsletter to highlight a variety of people, organizations, and resources that are doing work to broaden participation and expand equitable and engaging computer science and STEM opportunities. We are honored to work in this space along with so many talented and passionate individuals and organizations and want to help bring attention to their work.
This Week’s Spotlight: MN STEM Partnership
MN STEM Partnership is an organization that helps students find and get involved in STEM from an early age leading them into a career in technology. Their main objective is to provide support and mentor partnerships to guide both students and their families through STEM activities and professional development. MN STEM Partnership wants to ensure that every family can feel comfortable and have the best opportunities when it comes to STEM programs.
Some of their services include technology education consulting, student and family career coaching, and Minnesota Interns. The technology education consulting program focuses on bringing STEM related-activities to different public schools and afterschool programs, it is taught by students and different tech professionals. Their career coaching program consists of helping students and families with finding specific STEM experiences that fit them, encouraging them to pursue a career in technology. Minnesota Interns is a program that MN STEM Partnership helps with which matches college juniors and seniors with local STEM internships to give them a hands-on learning experience.
The membership for MSP families and students is free and their programs rely mostly on volunteers from the community, education, and industry. MN STEM Partnerships works with many other organizations, which are based both locally and nationally, including BDPA, NSBE and BiT helping fulfill their main goal, the success of the student.

August is Water Quality Awareness Month!
Water is such an important and vital part of our everyday lives. We drink it, clean with it, swim in it and so much more. It is important to be aware of how you affect the quality of water around you and what you can do to help improve it. Use this app inventor tutorial to create a quiz about water quality, you can test your family and friends when it's done and help educate them on the importance of our water. Remember, this is just a suggestion; use your own creative genius to create a personalized project!
