This Week’s Spotlight and Project-Inspiration Theme: Native American Heritage Month
This week’s focus is Native American Heritage Month!
November is Native American Heritage Month and this week’s theme! The month is used to recognize and honor the significant contributions that Native Americans have had on the growth of the United States and acknowledge that we live on stolen land. It is also a time to listen and boost Native voices, especially about current issues that greatly affect Native American communities.
There are amazing things happening at the intersection of the Native American community and STEM - take a moment to check out this list of 7 Native American Tech Organizations to Know and then find out more about how you can support their work.
You can also check out the Native American Heritage Month website to learn more about how to make the most of this month’s celebration. The site offers many educational articles, exhibits, and resources for teachers and students. There are also many events that are being held throughout the month that you can participate in, including online discussions, webinars, and gallery talks.
